Haven't bothered to get tested for HIV? Well, Eastside gay men now have one less excuse for that.
Health Initiative For Men and Seek and Treat for Optimal Prevention of HIV/AIDS have joined forces to launch HIM on the Drive, a satellite sexual health centre for gay males that will make it easier for East Vancouverites to access HIV and STI testing.
HIM on the Drive, located at 1723 Grant Street, opened its doors on August 15. The clinic is now open from Monday to Thursday (4 to 8 p.m.) and provides rapid HIV testing, early HIV testing, standard HIV testing, STI testing, and information about HIV and STI transmission.
However, if the hours or location of HIM on the Drive don't work for you, there are plenty of other testing locations you can access throughout Metro Vancouver. Living on the Downtown Eastside? Hanging out in Kitsilano? A variety of different clinics have got you covered.
HIM's main office is located in the West End (310–1033 Davie Street). They also have a sexual health centre (421–1033 Davie Street) in the same building, which provides HIV and STI testing as well as counseling and sexual health education.
